Evo

To help out a fellow CT rally team, I took in this Evo to do a little work.
It turns out that the cage was built slightly outside the rule book. The a-pillar reinforcing tube, from the floor to the top of the windshield, wasn't properly positioned so there was a dead-end load path. Noah, the car's co-driver, brought the car to me and I cut the old tubes out so their cage guy can put new ones in.
They are also upgrading the roof reinforcements from a single tube to a V configuration.
We look forward to competing against them, even though they have twice the horsepower!

Flappin' and Switchin'
Had a chance to get the mud flaps and switch panel installed in the rally car last weekend.
Flaps look nice, they really make a rally car look like a rally car!

The switch panel is all made up and partially wired. It will ultimately control the pod lights (4), fuel pump, ignition, master disconnect, map lights, interior light, rear fog, fogs etc.

Wicked Big Meet

We'll be brining the rally car up to Wicked Big Meet this Sunday. It should be a good time. The car still has a fair amount of little things to do to it, but it is running and driving so that is a big step. I have the scoop for the roof vent coming in this week, so hopefully that will be painted and installed in time!

Mid Winter Update
The car has languished for a couple weeks while we do some much needed upgrades to ARU world headquarters. My 700 square foot garage just wasn't big enough, so we added about 400 more square feet of storage space to clean it up a bit, nothing worse than a cluttered work space! Once this work is done, we'll be back on the machine, just in time for the nice weather!
