To help out a fellow CT rally team, I took in this Evo to do a little work.
It turns out that the cage was built slightly outside the rule book. The a-pillar reinforcing tube, from the floor to the top of the windshield, wasn't properly positioned so there was a dead-end load path. Noah, the car's co-driver, brought the car to me and I cut the old tubes out so their cage guy can put new ones in.
They are also upgrading the roof reinforcements from a single tube to a V configuration.
We look forward to competing against them, even though they have twice the horsepower!
